Breathing is something we all do during our life time. We all know we are going to die if we are not breathing. Breathing is a reflex action done by our body to provide the flow of oxygen around the body to the vital organs.

Wikipedia, online encyclopedia, describes humans breathe between 12 and 20 times per minute, with children breathing faster than adults.

Babies may breathe as much as 40 times per minute. Adults normally breathe about 500-700ml of air at a time. An average 14 year old takes around 30,000 breaths per day.
However, we can control our breathing. We can be more relaxed by breathing in and out so deeply. The more we allow our body to be filled by deep breathing, the less stress we place on our body and mind.

The more we practice our deep and controlled breathing, the more natural it becomes and we can call on it at any time of day to help us through those tired or stressed out moments.

With all the problems we have — either we feel stressed out at work, or at the end of a long hard day and we canít sleep, or if we just want a few minutes to our self — we will find this simple breathing exercise really beneficial.

Here are some steps to do breathing exercise:

1. You can lie down, sit down or stand up as long as you are comfortable. Breathe in slowly through your nose to the count of four. Breathe very deep until all your body feel expanded.

2. Hold on that deep breath for four counts, and then exhale slowly through mouth to a count of eight.

3. Repeat the breathing in ñ right down so your tummy expands. Hold on to it and then exhaling nine more times.

4. You can breathe deeper once you get used to the above steps by leave one hand on your stomach and place the other lightly across the chest. Breathe right down so your tummy expands

5. When it canít go any further, breathe in some more and fill the tops of your lungs. Inhalations and exhalation are the same length, eight counts each, without holding in between.

6. When you exhales, let the old air out from your chest then from your tummy. So, you are going to be relaxed.

No one knows for sure what causes migraine headaches. The most likely to answer to-date is that a serious of small irritations or reactions pile up until, finally, a migraine headache is triggered. Migraine triggers are different for each individual, but many migraineurs claim that a particular food or combination of foods will push them over the edge into a headache.

Keep in mind that most science disagrees with migraineurs when it comes to food triggers. There are no conclusive studies indicating a link between certain foods and migraine headaches, so all information is anecdotal. The thing is there is a lot, tons in fact, of anecdotal evidence for the link.

While a migraine trigger food can be, quite literally, anything, some foods come up on the trigger list for enough people to merit discussion.

Cheese

Cheese is a major trigger for many migraineurs. Particularly likely to cause an attack are hard or aged cheeses. Soft cheeses like cream cheese and new cheeses seem to be fine and unlikely to cause problems.

Processed Meats

Nitrates are believed by many to be a major migraine trigger. For most people, the most common source of nitrates is processed meat, items like hot dogs, sausage, bacon, processed lunchmeats, etc.

Condiments

Salad dressings are a trigger for many. The reason is not known, but is probably tied to a combination of other triggers all coming together in one place.

Spices and Additives

Any spice can be a trigger. Spices as triggers may be tied, at least partially, to scent sensitivity, since many spices have a pungent odor. Seasonings that seem to give migraineurs the most trouble include monosodium glutamate (MSG), common in Asian foods, artificial sweeteners, food dyes, and vinegar.

Migraineurs who suspect a food trigger should consider trying an elimination diet to pinpoint the trigger food.

Atkins diet foods are easy to find and available everywhere. There are many varieties to choose from, whether you pick prepackaged low-carb diet foods or make your own meals. No matter how you want to do the Atkins plan, there is a solution out there for you.

You’ll need to keep the Atkins food pyramid in mind when you make food choices. The Atkins pyramid looks much different than the USDA Food Guide Pyramid. The base of the pyramid consists of protein sources such as eggs, fish, beef, chicken and tofu. On a daily basis, your diet should consist primarily of these foods. The second tier has low glycemic vegetables like salad greens, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus and spinach.

The third tier is made up of berries and avocado. Fruits should be used on an occasional basis after the initial stages of the Atkins diet. Vegetable and seed oils, cheese, dairy, nuts and legumes are used sparingly and in appropriate portions. While the FDA pyramid has oils and fats at the top peak, the Atkins pyramid places whole grain foods in this spot. Whole grain foods should be used very occasionally and don’t make up the mainstay of the Atkins diet.

When you start the Atkins plan, you’ll need to make sure you understand which foods are acceptable for your stage of the program. The Induction phase is the most restrictive, but it only lasts two weeks.

You owe it to your dieting success to stay within the acceptable foods list. One of the best ways to do this is to follow the Atkins menu plans that are printed within the New Diet Revolution book. There are also Atkins cookbooks and cookbooks that are geared toward other low carb diets that are helpful in formulating meal plans.

It’s a helpful idea to use a cheat sheet of acceptable Atkins foods wherever you go. If you are out and about and hungry, the last thing you want to do is to try to think back in your memory to figure out what you can and cannot eat. Carrying a list of acceptable foods with you will make finding a snack or meal while out on the run easy. You can’t always rely on “low carb” labels to tell you whether or not something is diet friendly. Ever since low carb became the new diet craze, manufacturers have been jumping on the bandwagon to attract Atkins dieters. They label items low carb to sell products and don’t have your health in mind. Relying on foods from your own personal list is the best way to stay on the plan.

Another good resource for keeping track of the appropriate Atkins foods is an online diet program. There are several available. Some are free and some have a small monthly fee. The programs require you to register and then they provide you with personal weekly menu plans based on your needs and your carbohydrate gram level. There are normally printable weekly shopping lists that make picking up your Atkins diet foods from the grocery store easy and quick.

Atkins diet food is easy to find once you know what you are looking for. The books, food pyramid and online resources can help you make better food choices and stay on the diet for the long term.

It so often happens that a hobby can lead to a multi million dollar business, which is what happened when fashion guru Adrienne Vittadini started to design clothes and accessories. She was born in 1945 in Budapest, and came to America with her family after they fled from the 1956 Hungarian Revolution. She was enrolled at the Moore College of Art and Design in Philadelphia.

The brand name she developed soon became associated with elegance and a more European style. It’s not a staid brand however, and Adrienne Vittadini will often use bold colors for her material. The range is varied and includes ladies clothing, handbags, swimsuits, shoes and perfumes.

Famous persons such as Candice Bergen, Kim Basinger and broadcaster Joan Lunden love to be seen in her creations. She designs formal wear and informal clothes. Jewelry is also on offer, including bracelets, earrings, necklaces and rings. The choice of rings includes jet and tiger’s eye designs. All of the jewelry items tend to be understated and very feminine.

You can also buy watches, sunglasses, and the luggage range called Travelware. A complete outfit can be matched with accessories such as scarves, belts and hats. The scarves come in squares and boas and the belts are of various designs, including suede, leather and chain, calfskin and openwear chain link. Adrienne Vittadini thinks of everything, right down to hosiery, including seamless, camisole and fine mesh.

Men are not completely forgotten in the midst of all things female. There are men’s fragrances, wallets and cuff links. For those men who don’t like to shop, or indeed women, it’s made easy with the Adrienne Vittadini online list. You can also purchase gift cards in store or online from a value of $25 to $1,000.

These can’t be redeemed online but there are plans to expand the service to allow that in future. For a special occasion, it’s possible to order items from the Adrienne Vittadini range to be packed in a gift box all wrappedup with a ribbon. You can do this online too, and it’s a complimentary service. The candle sets and perfume gift boxes are particularly popular.

This is a story of true enterprise, rewarded with success. The business was bought by Retail Brand Alliance in 2001. People Magazine had placed Adrienne Vittadini in their chart of 50 Most Beautiful People in the World in 1992. Like others before her, a political revolution had brought Adrienne to the US, and she worked hard to be a huge success in a free economy.

Garlic is another food known for its antioxidant properties. Garlic actually has many healthy properties and can even be used as an antibacterial.

Berries of almost every type are excellent antioxidants. Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and blackberries all have antioxidant properties.

Although cooking can dilute the nutrients in food, most foods have more than enough to last. The antioxidant properties of red grapes are even found in wine, so it’s not necessary to eat raw foods in order to get antioxidant benefits.

And speaking of antioxidants that you can drink, don’t forget about tea. All different kinds of tea have these good-for-you properties, not just green tea, as was originally thought.

While nutritional supplements are available to help us get the nutrients we aren’t getting from food, the recommended five servings of fruits and vegetables a day (especially if those vegetables are broccoli and spinach) should provide most of the antioxidants you need. Especially for children, it’s wise not to get in the habit of relying on supplements when a naturally varied diet can provide for most nutritional needs. As we get older, however, it may become necessary to supplement certain vitamins and minerals; for example, some older people lose the ability to naturally synthesize enough Vitamin B12. Vitamin D is another vitamin that may need to be supplemented in older people. Your doctor can do blood tests to determine if you could benefit from vitamin supplementation.

Do you have a love for fashion? Whether you make your own clothes or fashion accessories or if you regularly find yourself giving fashion advice to those that you know, have you ever thought about a career in fashion? If you haven’t, you may want to take the time to do so. Despite the common myth that a career in fashion is one that is difficult to obtain, it is more than possible with the right amount of willpower and the need to succeed.

When it comes to having a career in fashion, many individuals wonder exactly what they can do. The good thing about fashion is that there are a number of fashion focused jobs and careers out there. Some of these jobs involve working for someone else, like another company, but there are also opportunities out there where you can start your own business and be your own boss. If you would like to know more about some of the many careers in fashion that you may be able to have, you will want to read on.

One of the most popular and sought after careers in fashion is that of a fashion designer. Fashion designers are individuals who design clothing and fashion accessories, like jewelry or handbags. Many fashion designers start out small by making clothes and fashion accessories for themselves and their friends, but many later decide to start selling their own fashions. What is nice about being a fashion designer is that you can continue to make your own clothes or you can hire a manufacturer to do it for you. You may also want to think about selling your own clothes either locally or online.

Speaking of selling the clothes or fashion accessories that you may have designed, that leads to another fashion career. One other fashion career that you may be interested in is being the owner and operator of a fashion store. Fashion stores come in all different size, shapes, and styles. There are some fashion stores that focus on a particular type of clothing, like elegant eveningwear, and others who offer all different types of fashions for all different individuals, like men, women, and children. You also have the option of selling your own designs, if you are fashion designer, or buying other designer’s products to sell inside your stores, whether they are online stores, offline stores, or both.

Another fashion career that may be of interest to you is a fashion consultant. Fashion consultants are individuals who advise or consult with their customers on the latest in fashion trends. The clients of fashion consultants are often ones who are unsure about what to wear for a new job, a job interview, an elegant dinner, a wedding, or another important event. If you have a love for fashion, enjoy keeping up with the latest in fashion news and trends, and enjoy giving fashion advice to those that you know, you may want to look into a career as a fashion consultant.

Another one of the many careers in fashion that you may want to look into is one that is relatively unique. Each year, thousands of fashions shows take place in the United States. While a select few of those shows are able to make it on the national news, not all are that popular. Did you know that many local stores and fashion designers have their own local fashions shows? They do, but many do not realize that they can or have the time to plan a fashion show and this is where you can come in. You can make money as a fashion show organizer. Fashion show organizers often target local fashion stores and fashion designers to explain the many benefits of having a fashion show to them. As a fashion show designer, you may be in charge of making the show run well. This often includes booking the fashion show space, designing the stage, hiring the models, and so forth.

As you can see, there are a number of different fashion focused careers or jobs out there for you to choose from. What is even more amazing is that the above mentioned fashion focused careers are just a few of the many that exist.

Moving home can be very exciting. Whether you are moving to a new country or down the road, it’s important not to get caught up in the excitement and forget to prepare for the big move. There’s a lot more to it than packing up and going. In order to have a smooth and happy move you need to make sure you put some time into preparing.

Revisit

If you can, revisit your new house. During a first viewing chances are you‘ll come away with a slightly different picture that isn’t realistic to the size and finish of your new home. During first viewings it is easy to be a little over enthusiastic; leaving you thinking your new space is bigger than it actually is. It is important to revisit in order to put things in perspective. Not until you have revisited can you begin to consider what furniture you can take with you, and what new pieces you need to buy.

When you do revisit make sure you take a tape measure. Measure rooms, ceiling heights and door sizes. By doing this you will be able to tell if your furniture will fit in each room. By measuring the doors you will be able to work out if there are any pieces of furniture you will need to take apart to be able to fit through. This saves you the annoying job of having to take pieces apart outside at the other end.

Book And Rearrange

As far in advance as possible look up Removal companies and get quotes. Booking early can put your mind at rest and enables you to focus on other jobs. If you are moving from a big city such as London you might want to book a London removal company even further in advance as there is higher demand.

You will also need to rearrange several services you already receive. You may need to re direct your post, inform the post office of your new address. You will also need to inform your bank and any other companies that send you post of your new address. If you are moving far away you will need to ensure you tell your doctors and dentists and register at a practice near your new home. You will also need to rearrange anything like broadband and television services to be installed at your new home as soon as possible.

Packing

Changes are if you are moving your whole home, you will have a lot of things to pack. It’s best to start as soon as possible, and that includes sourcing materials to use to pack up! It’s ok to use bin bags for things like clothes, but for heavier items you will need to find large boxes. Ask in local shops and supermarkets if there are any they are throwing away. Be through with labelling! If you label everything it will make unpacking at the other end an awful lot easier.

It’s bikini season, and we all could use some help getting ready. We all want to look great, and sometimes it’s the little things we overlook. By following these five simple tips, you can toss aside that cover-up and enjoy the lazy days of summer.

Don’t go shopping for a new suit the day before you need it, give yourself a cushion, it could take some time

2. Get a tan! A golden tan will help everyone look great in their bikinis. Real or fake, it doesn’t matter. Your bronzed skin will make you appear healthier and will leave you looking vibrant.

3. Hair Removal, yep it’s gross, it’s a pain – but everyone has it. Be sure to take the time to remove any unsightly hair before you head out in that two-piece, and don’t forget your underarms, too!

4. Stand up straight! Our mothers were right, we shouldn’t slouch. By standing tall, we appear thinner, like magic. Slumped, frumpy women look heavier. Stand tall with your shoulders back and you will instantly lose ten pounds.

5. Tone up and drop a few pounds. This one take some planning ahead, but nothing will make you look better than being in shape. Exercise helps keep you fit and looking your best. Toning those muscles will keep you looking exceptional all summer long. Eating a balanced diet, drinking plenty of water, and getting exercise at least three times a week should do the trick.

Choosing the right birth control option can be a daunting and lengthy process. With numerous brands and methods available, finding what works best for your body with minimal side effects can be baffling. With a little research and help from your doctor, you can be prepared for what possible side effects to expect ahead of time.

Birth Control Methods

There are many birth control methods available. Finding which one is right for you may take time and some experimenting to discover. Some options available are: combination pill (most popular), progestin pill, diaphragm, vaginal ring, IUD (intrauterine device), and condoms. If you are seeking a hormone free method of birth control, try female or male condoms, sterilization, or abstinence. Keep in mind when choosing a method, the risks and benefits for your particular needs.

Pros and Cons to Consider

Birth control is most commonly used to prevent unplanned pregnancies. It is also used to control irregular menstruation, severe acne, absence of menstruation, excessive cramping, Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS), and endometriosis. Birth control works by lowering hormone levels, therefore regulating menstruation. The benefits of birth control can heavily outweigh the cons and is necessary for some medical conditions.

Short Term Side Effects

Most side effects from birth control are short lived. Common short term side effects are: headache, dizziness, and nausea. Some of these effects can be lessened by taking your pill at night before bedtime or with a meal. Retaining water is also a potential side effect as your body gets used to the new hormone balance, and usually subsides within a few months.

Long Term Side Effects

As with many drugs, birth control can cause long term side effects. A close eye on symptoms can help prevent further health risks. One long term side effect can be reduced sexual drive. Hormone changes from the drug can also cause reduced lubrication and arousal. Long term use can lead to breast cancer, weight gain, blood clot risk, depression, and anxiety. Smokers should not use hormonal drugs as a birth control method, since this factor can cause blood clotting.

When you purchase cosmetics and skincare from brands that label themselves as being made with ‘natural’ ingredients, you expect them to be good for you and not have any nasties in. Unfortunately this isn’t always the case and a lot of brands use words such as ‘organic’ ‘natural’ and ‘fresh’ to lure people into the illusion that what they are buying is just those.

We’re not by any means saying that all brands use this unscrupulous technique, but for those of you who spend your money on cosmetics and expect them to be naturally made – you need to be aware that you will have to look a lot deeper to find out whether your products truly are as innocent as you would hope.

Even for makeup lovers who don’t set out specifically to search for brands that pride themselves with the natural title, there’s still a level of safety and health precautions that everyone would expect is taken out when our make-up and skincare products are made. This is often the case and many brands ensure that they get their products fully tested using methods like multivariate testing, but some slip through the net. This also can be an overlooked detail and some make up out there on the market can be very, very bad for you.

Parabens

Found often in skin lotions and cosmetic products – These have been known to be linked to interruptions within the endocrine system, as well as setting off very severe allergies.

Synthetic Fragrance
Found in all sorts of items including shampoos and conditioners, perfumes, soaps, deodorants as well as general cleansing products – Phthalates, which is within ‘fake’ fragrance has been linked in studies to the disruption in normal hormone functioning.

Aluminium
Found in a wide variety of products, especially antiperspirant deodorants – Is increasingly discussed as there is a strong opinion that as deodorant is applied so close to the breast, which then may be absorbed and lead to hormonal changes. If that were to happen, it could eventually damage the endocrine system.

Toluene
Found in nail varnishes and make-up products – Toluene is a known neurotoxin (something toxic to the brain). It can lead to interference with the central nervous system and brain function. It is especially concerning as it can affect normal foetal development.

Synthetic Formaldehyde
Found in hair relaxing products and nail polishes – This is a Volatile Organic Compound, which once vaporised, is extremely toxic. It is carcinogenic and can lead to poisoning of the liver.

What you can do is swapping out any brands you use that are happy to pile in all these toxins into your products. Switch to a natural and trusted brand – look around. A little extra care can lead to a lot of health benefits in the long term.
